In minutes that is 480 + 480 + 480 + 495 + 360 = 2,295, and 2,295 divided by 60 is 38.25 hours. At $20 an hour, the week's pay is 38.25 × $20 = $765.00. Under 40 hours means no federal overtime this week.
Weekly hours and overtime
Under the US Fair Labor Standards Act, a workweek is a fixed period of 168 hours (seven 24-hour days in a row). Overtime at one and a half times the regular rate is owed for hours over 40 in a workweek for non-exempt employees. If you work part of a week in one pay period and the rest in the next, hours are still counted by workweek. Some states also count daily hours; see the California overtime calculator.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate my total hours for the week?
For each day, subtract the clock-in time from the clock-out time and take off any unpaid break. Then add the days together. Or enter the times in the calculator above.
How many hours is a full-time week?
Many employers treat 40 hours a week as full time, but the definition varies by employer and purpose. 40 hours is also the federal overtime threshold for non-exempt employees.
Is a workweek Monday to Sunday?
Not always. Your employer sets a fixed workweek, such as Sunday to Saturday or Monday to Sunday, and uses it every week. Check with your employer which one applies.
How do I show weekly hours in decimal?
Divide the minutes by 60 and add them to the hours. 38 hours 15 minutes is 38.25 hours. See the decimal time chart for a full list.
Do I subtract lunch from my weekly hours?
Subtract it only if it is unpaid. A meal period of 30 minutes or more when you are fully relieved of duty is usually unpaid under federal rules; short rest breaks are paid.
Does the calculator save my hours?
